Embrace Your Creative Side And Take Part In This Year’s Chesterfield Postcard Show!

Here at Rosewood Wealth Management, we are always looking for exciting opportunities to collaborate with our local community. That’s why when we heard about the return of the popular Chesterfield Postcard Show, we knew we had to get involved and sponsor the event!

After the success of last year’s Chesterfield Postcard Show, which saw 70 artists produce 131 mini-art pieces, Chesterfield’s well-loved art event is once again hoping to inspire the town’s residents to get creative.

Organised by community arts charity, Junction Arts, in conjunction with local artist, Dave Elsom, the annual event invites people to create postcard designs based on a topic. This year, participants are encouraged to design their artwork around the theme, ‘Wish You Were Here’.

Recognising the powerful impact creativity has on wellbeing, the Chesterfield Postcard Show aims to unite the community through the medium of art. With an emphasis on inclusivity, the project appeals to participants of all backgrounds with a willingness to try new things. Whatever your level of creative skill or experience, the Chesterfield Postcard Show is a unique opportunity for the people of Chesterfield to creatively express themselves in a fun, non-competitive format.

How To Get Involved

Those interested in the event have until the 20th April 2023 to submit their entries. Designs must be displayed on an A6 size card and can be presented in multimedia form. If participants require a blank card, they can receive one by emailing hannah@junctionarts.org. Submissions should be posted to The Postcard Show, Junction Arts, West Studios, Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, S41 7ET.

Once all postcards have been received, they will then be exhibited at West Studios between the 9th and 19th May 2023. In order to raise money for Junction Arts, the art pieces will be available to purchase throughout the exhibition. All money raised will help to support Junction Arts and their mission to bring art to the wider community.

Rosewood Supports The Postcard Show

Sharing Junction Art’s mission to empower the Chesterfield community, Rosewood are delighted to be able to sponsor this year’s Chesterfield Postcard Show. Reflecting on the positive impact of the event for the wider community, Rosewood’s Director, Shannan Pool-Gorman, admits that, “supporting this year’s Chesterfield Postcard Show is a great opportunity to give back to the residents of Chesterfield. We love how accessible the event is; all participants need is an A6 piece of card and a fun design idea. It feels incredibly rewarding to be able to join forces with award-winning local arts charity, Junction Arts, to facilitate community creativity and togetherness.”

It’s All About Community For Junction Arts

Located in the heart of Chesterfield, Junction Arts have been delivering engaging arts experiences to communities in the East Midlands since the 1970s. By hosting regular participatory art events, Junction Arts aims to uplift communities by promoting the development of confidence and skills. Expressing her excitement about the upcoming event, Junction Art’s Fundraising Coordinator, Hannah Bowdler, reveals that, “this year’s Chesterfield Postcard Show is all about bringing the community together to celebrate what is important to them as individuals and as a collective creative unit. Rosewood’s sponsorship allows the event to continue to reach more of the community, helping us to address inequality and inspire change through art. We are excited to discover what unique postcard designs will be submitted this year.”
