Frequently Asked Questions

Are you making the most of your ISA allowances?

ISA’s allow you to save up to £20,000 a year in cash, stocks and shares, or a mixture of the two, with all interest and growth free from tax. That means when you withdraw money from your ISA you will not have to pay any income tax or capital gains tax on the proceeds.

You can transfer some or all of your ISA balances, whether cash or stocks and shares to a better account or more competitive deal so it is always good to review your ISA arrangements.

Where can I put my money?

There are a large number of different types of savings and investment products out there. There are low risk options, which will yield smaller returns and there are those that carry a higher risk with the possibility of greater returns. Make an appointment to come and see us so we can go through everything you need to know and find a solution that works for you.

What is an investment bond?

Investment bonds are basically life insurance policies where you can choose to invest a lump sum of money in a variety of available funds. Bonds of this nature can run for a fixed term while others can have no set investment term. The return you will receive when you decide to withdraw and cash your bond in will be dependent on how the investment performed.

Testimonials

Hear what a few of our highly satisfied clients have to say

I spoke to Donna to crystallise a pension fund from a previous employer. By continually persevering to achieve the result that I wanted even though there were a few problems along the way. Donna could not have been more helpful. In my opinion, she could have done no better. I would have no hesitation in recommending Donna to anyone for her knowledge and help.

Google Review

My previous advisor with whom my pension had been with did not keep me advised and the investment was just standing still. I, therefore, shopped around and found that Donna understood what I was after and therefore I felt confident that she would keep me totally up to date on my investment.

A lifetime mortgage is secured against your home and is a complex product. To understand the features and risks, ask for a personalised illustration. Your home or property may be repossessed if you do not keep up the repayments on your mortgage. You may have to pay an early repayment charge to your existing lender if you remortgage. The value of your investment can go down as well as up and you may not get back the full amount invested. Accessing pension benefits early may impact on levels of retirement income and your entitlement to certain means-tested benefits. Accessing pension benefits is not suitable for everyone. You should seek advice to understand your options at retirement.
