Rosewood Wealth Management sponsors Cutthorpe Cricket Club

This summer, we may not be blessed with fours, sixes, and wickets-a-plenty over at Cutthorpe Cricket Club.  As is the case with clubs up and down the country, Cutthorpe has had to halt its games, subject to postponement of the cricket season until further notice due to Covid-19.

Boasting 4 Saturday teams, a Sunday team, and 8 Junior teams, the Club is an integral part of the community across a wide span of age groups.  Looking to expand its reach even further in the future, Cutthorpe intends to run a Women’s softball team when restrictions are lifted.

The ground is a typical picturesque English cricket field in the heart of Cutthorpe and has been maintained and loved by the residents of the village and beyond since 1918.  During the Well Dressing season,  the village can often be seen adorned with tributes to the Club, which was the place that Geoff Miller OBE, one of England’s most respected cricket personalities, first put on his whites.

As a part of the social history of the Chesterfield area, it is important that as a community we can come together to help keep our Club going through these difficult times, that we can help to secure its future for the enjoyment of generations to come.  At present, the Club is funded solely through the generous support of its members as volunteers, and by sponsors such as ourselves. However, with the postponement of the season, the income that the Club would normally receive from its players and events is simply not there.

To ensure the Club survives this crisis as a valued part of the community, a support page for the Club has been set up on the website easyfundraising.org.uk. It’s completely free to use. It works like this: when you shop online, the retailer you are buying from will make a small donation to the Club.  We have signed up, it’s easy to use, and at the moment we’re fast becoming a nation of experts in online shopping, so knowing that our purchases will go to help support a club that is so dear to all of our hearts makes that shop even more satisfying!

If you would like to get involved and make a difference in keeping this amazing Club around for years to come, please pop over to www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/cutthorpecc and get signed up. It takes a few minutes to set up and can make all the difference.

The cricket club is always supportive of new members whether you are a seasoned player, a five-year-old rising star, or even if you just fancy giving it a go to see if it’s for you.  You can find all the details on play-cricket.com or use the link cutthorpe.play-cricket.com/Aboutus to find out more.

A lifetime mortgage is secured against your home and is a complex product. To understand the features and risks, ask for a personalised illustration. Your home or property may be repossessed if you do not keep up the repayments on your mortgage. You may have to pay an early repayment charge to your existing lender if you remortgage. The value of your investment can go down as well as up and you may not get back the full amount invested. Accessing pension benefits early may impact on levels of retirement income and your entitlement to certain means-tested benefits. Accessing pension benefits is not suitable for everyone. You should seek advice to understand your options at retirement.
